Clients: Amy Cummins

Amy Cummins is a talented artist based in Devon. Amy has sold a wide range of work to private collectors and has been exhibited at a number of galleries, from the local spaces of Sidmouth and Seaton to the Goethe Institute in London. Her wide portfolio of work includes portrait studies, oil paintings and a variety of abstract and expressionist paintings that explore the human condition.
Amy required a website that would showcase her impressive range of work, whilst attracting potential clients to commission new artwork for them. Amy’s previous website was extremely difficult to update – making it impossible for Amy to keep it looking fresh. She therefore needed her website to be easily updatable.
Sound in Theory designed and created Amycummins.co.uk to focus on Amy’s artwork by making the portfolio the centrepiece of the site. This portfolio is divided into sub-sections, which show Amy’s range of artwork disciplines at a glance, whilst ensuring none of the portfolio sections appears too cluttered. Each of these portfolio sections features a clickable Javascript gallery, showcasing Amy’s range of artwork images cleanly and crisply, in the simplest way possible.
Simplicity and minimalism are hallmarks of the HTML website, to ensure Amy’s artwork remains the focus of the site rather than the website design. The site is easy for visitors to navigate, and is built with a custom-made content management system, to ensure it is also easy for Amy to keep up to date.
