Catch the Lingo

Catch the Lingo specialise in making travelling the globe easier. Founded by Eamonn McMahon, born from his own experiences travelling from Mexico to Panama, the website would be a place where travellers could go to compare Spanish language and TEFL courses, and book the right one for them – a comparison website for travellers that is simple, straightforward, and has no hidden fees or agenda.

In addition to Spanish schools and TEFL centres in Argentina and Chile (soon to include Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay), Catch the Lingo would provide information on free and low cost volunteering opportunities in South America. This would include destination guides written by travel journalists and travellers, and a well-resourced community section, where travellers can interact with their fellow travellers.

Such a website would need to be designed and built by a web design company with the skills to meet and exceed all its requirements. Catch the Lingo looked no further than Sound in Theory to create their website for them.
The website Sound in Theory created is an expansive and expandable system of three parts:

• The first part is an elegant and sophisticated front end, used to display four different products over numerous locations – Language Courses Abroad, TEFL Courses and Work Abroad, Accommodation Abroad and Volunteering Opportunities abroad

• The second part is supplier facing control system, which allows the suppliers of the courses and accommodation to control the data that is seen on the website

• The third part is the complex administration systems needed to control all of this, which allows Catch the Lingo client to control all of the data on the website and all of the data for the suppliers. It also means they can update and expand into new locations, and add sections and pages into the website.

The site also includes a large community aspect with blogs, forums and articles about the locations deeply integrated.

With a design that reflects the friendly, knowledgeable, community nature of Catch the Lingo, and a Flash map of South America, the whole website looks and reflects the company’s branding beautifully. Sound in Theory helped Catch the Lingo to create this brand identity, which mixes the old and new, friendly and serious, with a colour palette and hand-drawn style fonts to suit.

Sound in Theory’s SEO and copywriting team also provided Catch the Lingo with keyword research and SEO guidance, to ensure the website can be found to help as many travellers as possible.
