Sound in Theory created a website for the Jenral Group – a music publishing company, a music management company, a record label and event organisers (who organise a range of events, from music festivals to snowboarding competitions) – in a way that maximises both visual impact and usability.
While bringing freshness and style to the site’s layout and sections, we brought the various branches of the Jenral Group (the publishing, management, events and records strands of their company) together on the site simply and effectively – each facet of the company has an individual section of the site, which is represented by a different colour.
Navigating between these sections is a pleasure. We applied character animation to the Jenral Group’s ninja logo, who ‘physically’ manipulates each section of the site and the transitions between them using kickass ninja moves. These slick transitions use a combination of hard-animated and maths-generated effects, which invites the visitor to dive between the sections of the website for more information... and have fun!
Along with creating a website for the Jenral Group, Sound in Theory redesigned the Jenral Group’s logo, including this ninja character. Our redesign brought clarity to their existing logo, which was very influenced by the martial arts, to make it more applicable to the Jenral Group’s line of work. The ninja character is slicker, simpler, more transferable than their original logo and far more suited to creating the animated transitions of the website. The Jenral Group’s original font also needed a revamp, as it was not only too illegible but also failed to capture Jenral as a serious music industry company. Sound in Theory created an original font for Jenral that is sharp, contemporary and cool.
The Jenral Group now has a website and logo that gives them an edge.
Client Testimonial
Sound in Theory has worked with the Jenral Group on a few diverse music industry projects and we are delighted by their results. With specific job roles performed in-house, Sound in Theory can easily cater for a number of different tasks, from animation to overall web design. Whenever I think ‘Internet application’, Sound in Theory is the only provider that springs to mind. Their prices are reasonable but, foremost, their content is cutting-edge and cannot be faulted. Sound in Theory is a very valuable part of our team and long may that continue.
