Yomps is an adventure travel company that takes people on unique, exciting experiences all over the world. Many overseas travel companies talk about the adventures of a lifetime they sell, but Yomps really means it.

Working with the Managing Director, Antony Wilson, Sound in Theory designed Yomps’s branding, websites and printing to reflect the start-up company’s commitment to providing quality, safe and enjoyable trips.

Adventure was key to the company’s branding. We projected an exciting, adventurous feel into the Yomps brand, creating a logo that would sit comfortably alongside high-quality outdoor brands, whilst stand up and stand out in the volunteer travel market. Although Yomps sends a broad age range of people on their trips, their main client base is school-leavers and gap year students. The youthful edge of the brand appeals greatly to this sector of the market, without alienating their older clientele.

This sector of the volunteer travel market is increasingly competitive – being made up of technologically-savvy young adults who do a great amount of research before deciding which volunteering programme they will join. Using big, high-quality images of the breathtaking adventures Yomps’s volunteers enjoy, the website Sound in Theory created instantly impacts on its visitors. It is designed to showcase Yomps's comprehensive range of trips with vibrancy and easy-to-use navigation, and includes a searchable world map and online booking system to provide an interactive and engaging experience for the visitor. Featuring a comprehensive content management system, Yomps is able to amend their website with ease.

The extensive content of the website needed an update. Sound in Theory was commissioned to revise, research and update Yomps copy, adding extra doses of vibrancy into the text that fit with the new brand. Increased search engine optimisation of each page has meant that since launch the Yomps website has increased to the top ten Google rankings for ‘volunteering trip’, ‘adventure overseas’, ‘volunteering trips’, ‘gap year programs’ and ‘career break’.

Sound in Theory also created eye-catching brochures, flyers and adverts for Yomps. Each is designed to attract the viewer’s attention – featuring striking images and intriguing headlines that are cohesive with the Yomps brand – and entice them to visit the Yomps website. These have featured in Working Abroad Magazine, on a variety of online banner adverts and on the stands of school-leaver careers fairs.
