Choosing a good car mechanic is critical - your life is literally in their hands.  The choice can vastly alter what you’ll pay for the same work.  One service might have a full array of equipment and skills while another may only have the basics covered.

Crucially, most of that information will be hidden from you, as let’s face it, most of us aren’t qualified to judge whether the suspension in a car needs replacing, how that job should be approached and what it should cost.  In addition, because of the gulf of knowledge between client and supplier, a huge amount of obfuscation and deception is possible by using technical terms the client can’t hope to fully understand.

All of this is true in relationships between business owners and software agencies (except it’s your business rather than your life you put in their hands!)

So a good relationship with your software provider, like a good relationship with a mechanic is a blessing.  In both cases they remove all the stress and doubt over reliability and cost - to the point where you know they’ll place you and the relationship they have with you above a short term profit motive, for example by telling you when something doesn’t need to be done.

This is the kind of supplier we’ve always sought to be - honest, dependable, highly skilled and understanding.  And it’s allowed us to build the long-lasting relationships with our clients which have underpinned and defined our success; relationships that with time, turn into true partnerships - ones where we become a truly singular supplier and are as much a part of their business and how it runs as any external agency could be.  These stress-free stable relationship with us in turn bring stability to the businesses of our clients that is a vital part of their own long term success.
